And thank you for respecting my position even if you don’t fully agree with it. I guess the reason I’m so passionate about this topic is precisely because I love the military and I love this Country. As naïve and simplistic as it may sound, we are the good guys. We are smart, we are resourceful and above all we stand for something. Every military leader who has voiced an opinion on this subject has come out vehemently against the use of torture. That should count for something - particularly since these are the same individuals who have seen the enemy up close and have risked their lives defending the principles we cherish most. I think so many get caught up with 1. what's so bad about some torture if it gets us the info we need? 2. is waterboarding torture? I am still on the fence on this one, but understand that the torture is what needs to separate "us" from "them." The problem is that the playing field isn't level. I just wish that our media and the Country would embrace and honor the men and women in uniform instead of questioning their every move. Patriotism & respect for those who serve is being lost on this generation & that scares the tar out of me. Especially one who has seen combat. I served during George H.W. Bush's adminstration and like President Reagan, he believed in those of us in uniform.
