You know, I bet this a political tactic by the Bush administration. Think about it. All the delays and the circus atmosphere of Saddam’s trial only to be found guilty and sentenced to death, by the GOP controlled puppet courts of Iraq, two days before the election. Bush and Rove a geniuses.

I actually made that picture last year when Saddam’s trial got under way. As you can see, I was right but I wrong on the method.

Saddam once said that if he is convicted he would rather be shot than hanged. I don’t think he gave the people he killed the right to choose how they died, but if there was any way it could be done, I think hanging him such that it did not immediately break his neck, and then shooting him while he was choking to death, and then beheading him sounds like a good plan.

No matter what you think of the war, the verdict is a triumph for humanity and the Iraqi people. A mass murderer has been brought to justice.
