President Bush’s amnesty plan has failed. This is a cause for celebration.

Anyone who thinks that, if passed, this plan would be a success is delusional. We can’t find 20 million people to round up and ship back, but we think they’ll line up with their check for $5,000 and be willing to go back to the back of the line and wait? Bear Creek Ledger has a good piece up about 20 loopholes in this bill.

And here’s something I didn’t know. That $5,000 fine they would be required to pay under this bill? They’re already required to pay it for crossing the border illegally in the first place.
