No. Me and humidity don’t get along very well. Maybe when it’s cooler I’d consider it.

    2. would you move to New Orleans tomorrow?
No. I can’t leave Oklahoma. It’s too good a state.

    3. do you think Louisiana is using the money it
    asks for wisely?
Not sure what they’ve been using it for, so I can’t answer that.

    4. has your attitude towards New Orleans become
    hopeful or cynical?
Maybe a little of both. Hopeful that they can put this behind them and get their city rebuilt but cynical because it’s been almost two years and they’ve barely made a dent.

    1.  I would possibly buy real estate in New Orleans since it might be a great deal right now!  I loved the city it once was and will return one day to find out what it has become.  It is on my list of places to return to someday!   2. I would consider moving there if I could retire and enjoy the music and the atmosphere and the great centralized location in the USA.3.Not sure how the money is being spent. So.. no comment on that part.  I’ll guess I’ll make that decision when I return.4. I am very hopeful that the great memories that I have of my visits to a city that wakes up your smile, “disneyland for adults” will be rekindled when I return to the “new” New Orleans.  I hope for the best.  It is such a huge loss to the country and deserves to be rebuilt.

    1. would you visit New Orleans tomorrow?
No. I have been there, but I can no longer travel

    2. would you move to New Orleans tomorrow?
No. I have a good friend that loves the place, but I believe the corruption is too ingrained. Plenty of money was provided to strengthen the levees before Katrina, but it was siphoned off for other projects. Similar to what happened with bridge maintenance finds in Minneapolis. Politicians would rather build new things than maintain the old.

    3. do you think Louisiana is using the money it
    asks for wisely?
No. I don’t believe any construction should go on in the 9th ward, which is 10 to 15 feet below sea level. You have a huge lake on one side, a huge river on another side, and a huge gulf on another side, and even if all the levees hold, a hurricane that went over the area would fill the bowl up with water, and with all of that water on three sides, there would be no place to pump it.

    4. has your attitude towards New Orleans become
    hopeful or cynical?
Mixed. Without Greta there I feel sure it would go down; with her it has a chance.

    1. – Yes – definitely. In fact, I’m semi-scheduled to visit just after Thanksgiving.

    2. – No. lived there for 9 months while attending training. A good temporary place to live but the political corruption is so obvious and rampant that I don’t want any part of it.

    3. – No – at least not according to any Louisiana news web site I read. And accordingly, the Louisiana politicians have apparently “lost” several billions in funds – which surprises no one in Louisiana.

    4. – Hopeful that it won’t change to the “Spanish Quarter” and cynical to think it might. Hopeful to think that New Orleans residents won’t continue with spoonfeeding handouts by becoming more independent and self starters. Cynical to think they may not know how since its been that way so long.

    1. Was just there in March – for business. Had fun. But was ready to leave. Would only go back for a long fun weekend, with friends. Or if required for work of course.
    2. Absolutely not. Too hot and humid. Too dirty. Not safe. I like changes in elevation (hills, mountains) too much.
    3. Probably not. Corruption is rampant, disorganized government….
    4. More cynical lately. Crime is the primary reason.
