NEVER GET DRUNK AT MILITARY FUNCTIONS

We can all remember when “so and so” was a little too drunk at the Christmas party or ball. Trust me on this one…if you break this rule, it will haunt your for years to come. Understandably, you spent a lot of your hard earned money to attend this function and you want to have a great time. This is also an opportunity to spend the night out with your spouse and friends and maybe let your hair down a little bit. However, military functions are not the venue for having one too many glasses of wine and possibly risking humiliating yourself or your significant other. PLEASE know your alcohol limit when attending any military function. A drink before dinner, one with it and if you are there long enough – maybe one afterwards is MORE than enough! And if there is a receiving line, please do not go through it tipsy!

Your Army roots are showing, Greta, LOL! Getting drunk and making an imbecile of yourself, if done at certain type of functions (birthday balls), can make you look like the coolest couple around. As long as you don’t puke on anyone, it’s good to cut loose once in awhile to show you’re not a stiff.

I agree with Greta…100%. You can have fun and have a few drinks without getting sloppy and obnoxious (which some people do).

LT Nixon – you can’t take those drunken moments back. You can cut loose without liquid courage at military functions. Now if you want to come down during Mardi Gras and see me cut loose….that is a different story.

Fair enough, Greta, and you may find it a surprise that I’m still single with a worldview like mine.
