Why I Love Liberals
April 6, 2006
Liberals and myself don’t always get along. Read some of the comments between brainhell, Meg and myself for proof. But every once and a while they do something that makes me love them.

Make sure you pay close attention to the last point. That one’s good.

Chris, I will give you $10,000 if you can prove that I am a registered Democrat.
The Democrats sicken me, almost as much as the incompetent drunk in the White House. Republicans are crass manipulators having a bonfire of American values — loving their glorious pyre!

My bad. I’ll change it.
And you just insulted every man and woman who has had a problem with alcohol but has gotten themselves clean and sober. My dad included. Way to go.

I feel the love BH. Do you like anone? I would like you to list 5 politicians you actually like!

“And you just insulted every man and woman who has had a problem with alcohol but has gotten themselves clean and sober.”
Are we that sure Bush is sober? Sometimes he does things that make me think he’s on the sauce again. If I were Laura, I’d be marking the Gin bottle. : P

Meg, did you happen to grow up with an alcoholic?
April 6th, 2006 at 5:29 pm
No, I didn’t . Does that mean I can’t make wild and unsubstantiated allegations against Bush?
Please say it doesn’t.

I don’t think sober drunks have much respect for active drunks, and I don’t respect a childish ex-drunk who won’t admit he is an alcoholic. He may be sober, but with all those falls and bruises and accidents he may be on the sauce more than we know. And he is still drinking booze. It was widely reported that he drank alcohol on his recent trip to Mongolia. So he’s not dry. But even if he is, he’s a dry drunk. He’s never matured.
And Chris, calling me a Liberal is satisfying to you and I can’t make you stop, but it does mean I get to call you a Communist. You believe that cancellation of civil liberties is OK when an all-powerful state has a Great Leader at the helm. Commie.
And since when do “insults” bother you, the craftsman of the depiction of Clinton as a sack of primate excreta?
You are your arguing-with-Liberals act are like DeNiro arguing with himself in the mirror. Full of sound and fury.

Chris – Do you consider President Bush a conservative? If so, why?
BH – You didn’t answer Greta’s challenge.

> I would like you to list 5 politicians you actually like!
You’d probably feel cheated if I said Washington, Jefferson, Teddy Roosevelt, Franklin Roosevelt, and Martin Luther King (didn’t run for office, but was a political leader).
You want living ones I bet, who can still run for office, so I’ll give you…
Tony Blair, Nelson Mandela (retired but still eligible), Hamid Karzai, Gavin Newsom, and Lech Walesa (retired but still eligible).
Commie Chris, fire up your attack machine.

(I sat next to Lech Walesa once in a restaurant in Gdansk. Well, to be precise, I sat at a table which was next to an empty table which was next to the table at which Walesa was sitting at.)

Meg and BH- The first 16 years of my life were spent with an alcoholic. My dad would get paid on Friday and take off for the entire weekend. I never knew when, or if, he would come back. So forgive me if I don’t find alcoholism a laughing matter.
Silke- Kind of, but not really. He’s a Republican, but not much of a Conservative. He spends WAY too much to be a Conservative.
BH-Why would I attack you? I don’t even know who Lech Walesa is, so… and other than FDR and Newsom, I agree.

> He spends WAY too much to be a Conservative
Hooah!
IC, I agree that alcoholism isn’t funny. I had some experienes with substance abusers, though not parents. Yuck!
> Why would I attack you?
Maybe because I didn’t throw in a Clinton?
> Al K.
Get out! No way! You lie! (How cool…)

Indian Chris — “I don’t even know who Lech Walesa is”.
Such a lack of knowledge about Solidarity and the disintegration of the Soviet Union is inexcusable. To read a little about Lech Walesa, try starting here (scroll down).
