Idol Chat
April 6, 2006
My 7 year old was really angry at me last night. He thinks I am personally responsible for Mandesa getting voted off, because I didn’t waste my night calling the “idol lines.” Y’all know I am a confessed reality TV junkie. So fill me in on your shows. BTW – Flavor of Love 2 will be coming soon for those (I hate to admit) who actually watched 1 – LOL. Amazing Race – not doing it for me this season – again! Survivor – OK, Intervention – depressing but great, Surreal Life – nothing beats the season with Janice Dickinson…

Not so much a reality TV junkie, but while I’m off work with an injury, TV junkie is starting to describe me. That and blog junkie.
All the Law and Orders, NCIS (was NIS when I was in), the Unit (Delta Force meets Desperate Housewives?), the Late Show with Craig Ferguson (can’t sleep due to pain, usually fall asleep after he’s on), Cartoon Network Adult Swim (esp. Family Guy).

Ahhh, I was pissed that Mandisa got booted last night too. I LOATHE Ace (aka Acehole, aka Michael Jackson). Who are these people who call in? 12 year old girls?
Tell the Hooah Kid I’m to blame too, because I watch the show (only to hurl vicious insults at the TV), but I never vote either. Sorry, kiddo.
I suffered through the atrocity that is Unan1mous last night after AI. Faker than the stupid WWF.
Most reality shows bug the crap out of me, but I absolutely adore Project Runway (on the Bravo channel). It’s like American Idol for fashion designers! (The season’s over, but they’re probably showing reruns.) I’m such a fag hag.
I’m actually going to try to watch Survivor tonight, for the first time in several seasons. I just got bored with it. And one more guilty pleasure: Big Brother. It’s painful to watch because the people are usually such jerks, but like AI, it’s an opportunity to yell at the TV. (Blogging takes away so much of that, y’know?)

Oh Beth – Project runway is great – Big Brother – I haven’t watched the last few, Unanimous –
watched twice – doubt will do it again. Ace doesn’t do it for me either – unless I was 12 & voting I suppose!

I adore Idol…and I couldn’t believe they voted off Mandisa. I really thought that Elliot was gonna get it.
My daughter votes, lol. She’s 10. She was a Chicken Little lover (eeeekkkkk!), now she’s going for Bucky. I’m not sure where she got her taste, lol.
Beth, you were missing at Idol Tongues this week. I generally just lurk there, I get a kick out of hearing everyone else’s opinion.

I share your opinions on Amazing Race, Survivor and Intervention. I also like Blow Out on Bravo and American Inventor on ABC. But Flavor Flav is like watching a car wreck – you don’t wanna watch, but you can’t help yourself! LOL….I did take a pass on Unanimous. Sounded too grungy for me…

Tell my darling grandson to get over it. Glad he gets so involved though. He can be an intense little guy.
Love him!

Greta, most of those shows you mentioned aren’t reality shows. They’re game shows. Except Intervention and Sureal Life. If there’s a prize involved, it’s a game show. My reality shows are: American Chopper, Ghost Hunters(SciFi Channel), Dog The Bounty Hunter(love Dog), Overhaul, Trading Spaces(kind of reality) and Deadliest Catch. I also like George Lopez, Hope & Faith, Mind Of Mencia(funniest man on the planet), Reno 911, Battlestar Galactica, L&O:SVU, Lost, According To Jim and quite a few British sitcoms. I’m a tv addict, what can I say.
